Sailing to Russell Island, BC, Canada (Gulf Islands National Park Reserve)
With winds about to descend upon our latest location for a few days, the captain decided to sail us to Russell Island, BC, Canada. This Gulf Island National Park Reserve is where we tend to anchor when it offers a safe spot, out of the elements. This intimate island holds meaningful history and the most beautiful tiny white beach. Wide rock cradles it. Clear water flows around it. Soft stones appear below it. If you look closely, tiny tart apples still grow wildly on a little tree that hovers just above shore. There is an easy trail to hike, a sustainable outhouse for all, and beautiful views of Salt Spring Island. It feels so calm and peaceful when we are here.
