Sailing to Oak Bay (in Victoria, BC, Canada)
After a brief detour, we exhaled happily, then began sailing to Oak Bay in Victoria, BC, Canada. A span of ocean currents and swells before us, under gray skies and drizzling rain, I captured a short video before those conditions really kicked in. That crossing kept me laser-focused and quiet, while the captain was in his element. We arrived safely, tied up and rested until we saw the sun again. That’s when we explored beautiful Oak Bay, Victoria, BC, from just about every angle (three times!). How is it that Victoria, BC, always feels so refined and kind? Fairway Market was our closest provisioner and had the best selection of organic produce. The Old Farm Market was a big trek, a fun adventure, and (since we forgot ours) sold us the biggest reusable grocer’s bag I've loved—plus two tasty gf vegan brownies. I’m still grateful that, from just about anywhere in Oak Bay, we could walk straight down to the beach … and follow it back to the marina again.
