Mount Vernon, Washington
I first began traveling to Mount Vernon, Washington, as a little girl. I spent my childhood there with friends who were residents of the Skagit Valley. Back then, we trekked through tulip fields, pet beautiful horses in backyards, and walked to the corner store on hot summer days with only one goal in mind—to buy popsicles. When I travel to Mount Vernon, Washington, now (as I did a few weeks ago), I adore walking through old town Mount Vernon to three favorite spots. I head to the Skagit Valley Co-Op to browse their upstairs mercantile, deli, and anything else they offer. I sit down to enjoy the delicious gluten-free vegan Pad Thai at the Thai House. And I slowly browse Perry and Carlson’s stunning (minimalist) boutique and art gallery.
