Sailing to Montague Harbour (in British Columbia, Canada)

As soon as we heard five days of gusty weather would hit just about everywhere we might sail next in British Columbia, Canada, we sailed straight to Montague Harbour—the nearest harbour where boaters could tie up to buoys for longer stays. As luck would have it, as soon as we arrived at Montague Harbour’s Marine Park, only a few buoys were still available—and two boats were trailing us. Smiling and nodding, we all tied to buoys. We were held securely in the wind for days. Afterward, a soft fog floated in just above the water, bringing so much peace. That’s when we rowed the dinghy to the marina, chatted with others on the dock, enjoyed the impeccable grounds, and shopped at the marina’s tiny general store. I couldn’t believe that I found just enough vegan (and gluten-free) food to replenish our supply.
